spring scream day 2

After a night that was slightly cold and very noisy we awoke to the second day of Spring Scream. Taiwan being a country where convenience and comfort are important things, the campsite of course had proper toilets and showers so one could freashen up before going to the concerts. While still at the campsite i managed to remember to bring my camera along so now i can show you some pictures, this is Yini at the camp:

As you can see the camp is rather nice and clean compared to your avarage European festival where it tends to be crowded with tents and lots of empty beer cans everywhere. Our mission for today was to gaurd the campsite entrance and only let people with proper stamps in. As things were generally poorly organised they had set 10 people to guard the gate which would need two people at most at any time. Thus we simply devided the task among us and I took the first shift together with Yini. That the festival wash poorly organized also showed in the fact that the check in counter did not open until some time in the afternoon so we had to take care of several bands that could not even get stamps.

After Johan and Anna took over our task, altough we were officially on duty, we had the rest of the day off. We spent some time sitting in the sun watching the bands and having a nice time all around. in the late afternoon we took a short break from the bands and found a beach. There were some nasty cliffs that pretty much stopped you from entering the water but it was a hot and clammy day and i realy wanted a swim so I defied the rocks and got in. it was nice to have a swim but even nicer to just relax on the beach afterwords.

By nightfall we got back from the beach and engaged in the standard festival activety, drinking beer and going to concerts. It is interesting to note how this whole festival was very polite. the music played was usually rock or somthing of the kind and some of it was rather hard and you would expectthat there would be headbanging and jumping wildly in time with the music, but people were just sitting there, like it was a nice evening in the park or something like that - deinetly not a rock concert. Some artists however, like my favourite band there, the Korean Nevada 51, really got the crowd going. And of course the very famous Taiwanese singer A mei had the whole festival jumping around during her faster songs.
